Asiya graduated from McGill University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Behavioural Sciences. She obtained a law degree in 2008 from the University of Ottawa. Asiya was called to the Ontario Bar in 2009.
While attending law school, Asiya interned at the immigration and refugee division of the South Ottawa Legal Aid Clinic, where she gained valuable experience in the immigration field. During law school Asiya also interned at the law branch of the Supreme Court of Canada, spent time clerking for a High Court justice in Nairobi, Kenya and volunteered with the Federation of Women Lawyers.
Asiya Hirji joined the team at Mamann Sandaluk in 2009 where she practices all areas of immigration law, but focuses on hearings before the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada.
