Luke studied at the McGill Faculty of Law. He obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in 2006 and the Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) and Bachelor of Common Law (LL.B.) degrees with distinction in 2009. Luke was also educated in China where he received two law degrees. He was called to the Ontario Bar and the New York State Bar in 2010.
While attending law school, Luke worked at a Montreal law firm specializing in Canadian and U.S. immigration law. He acquired hands-on experience in a broad variety of immigration matters involving different types of permanent residence/green card applications, work permits/employment authorizations, study permits, business immigration, treaty investors and intra-company transferees in Canada and the United States. He acted as the Vice President of Asia Pacific Law Association of McGill and was a recipient of the Chief Justice Greenshields Memorial Scholarship.
Prior to coming to Canada, Luke worked as a Legal Advisor in a law firm in China where he advised foreign and Chinese domestic companies on setting up joint ventures and wholly foreign owned enterprises. He was involved in drafting joint venture agreements and project feasibility study reports, filing documents with government authorities for registration and approval, assisting clients in business developments, and providing advice on matters affecting immigration and international trade.
Luke joined Mamann Sandaluk LLP in January 2011. He practices Canadian, U.S. and Chinese immigration law with a focus on business immigration.
Luke is fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin.
