Joseph Granton is part of the litigation team at MSK LLP. In a previous career, Joseph was a Border Officer with the Canada Border Services Agency (the “CBSA”). Here he discovered his passion – helping individuals navigate Canada’s complicated immigration system. Passionately constrained at the CBSA, Joseph decided to go to law school, graduating from Osgoode Hall in 2016.Joseph has practiced immigration law in a variety of settings: from a legal clinic in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood, to articling at one of Canada’s largest immigration firms, to building his own practice in corporate and personal immigration at a boutique immigration firm.No stranger to complicated matters, Joseph enjoys working on cases with multiple moving parts. Some of his most memorable included Humanitarian and Compassionate files, Temporary Resident Permits, and criminal inadmissibility cases. Joseph specializes in litigation, having worked on cases for the Federal Court and appeals to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.Joseph sees himself and his clients as part of a team. He patently ensures both his client and he fully understand how all the pieces of a case fit together and that all team members are on the same page. He knows that only a fully informed client is in a position to make important legal decisions affecting their future in Canada. This is why his clients trust Joseph to represent them. When Joseph isn’t working to help solve his client’s immigration issues, he can be found skiing, bass fishing, and hiking.
