About Cheryl Robinson

As a member of the Immigration Litigation Group at Mamann, Sandaluk & Kingwell LLP, Cheryl represents clients in refugee hearings and appeals, spousal and residency obligation appeals, as well as appearing on behalf of clients in stay proceedings and Judicial reviews before the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal. In addition, Cheryl has represented clients in a wide variety of written applications, including humanitarian and compassionate applications, pre-removal risk assessments, and cases involving medical inadmissibility.

Prior to joining Mamann, Sandaluk & Kingwell LLP, Cheryl worked with Desloges Law Group and Kranc Associates as an Associate Lawyer. During law school and as an articling student, Cheryl acted for clients in the immigration and refugee law division of Downtown Legal Services and Parkdale Community Legal Clinic, and volunteered with the FCJ Refugee Centre and the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Immunology, a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine from McGill University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law in 2008. In 2015, Cheryl was the recipient of the CBA National Immigration Law Founders’ Award.

Cheryl has presented at conferences of the Canadian Bar Association National Immigration Law Section, Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, and the Ottawa Immigration Law Conference. She has published articles in the HIV/AIDS Policy & Law Review and a paper in the 2007 Proceedings of Canadian Council on International Law, as well as contributing papers for various immigration law conferences. Cheryl was a member of the Refugee Services Operations Review Committee with Legal Aid Ontario, and a lecturer on refugee law for the Immigration Consultant program at Herzing College from 2015 to 2016.
